Human Resources Generalist
Role Description
We're looking for a savvy people person to serve as the Human Resources Generalist to support the Culture & Crew Director with key human resource functions across the organization. This mid-level role is ideal for an ambitious, bright, outgoing HR professional with an interest in the hospitality industry or retail stores. A strong sense of personal initiative is a must. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with multiple business units across the hospitality industry and be involved in the opening of new units in the region.
The Human Resources Generalist must be able to multi-task, be mission- and results-driven, and be able to execute his or her responsibilities in a very fast-paced environment. The Human Resources Generalist must be a self-starter who can work independently and have discretion with handling confidential information. We are looking for a highly organized, proactive individual who excels at communications, crafting procedures, managing HRIS and online training technology, and who enjoys engaging with recruiting and training new hires. Typical responsibilities will include outreach to potential crew members, executing on onboarding/orientation programs for new crew members, and ensuring consistently updated and compliance policies and procedures at each unit.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall strategy from the executive team
Bridge management and crew relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
Manage the recruitment and selection process for new crew members
Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of a top-notch crew
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization utilizing technology to increase operational efficiencies
Under the lead of the Culture & Crew Director, manage internal communication and engagement efforts on consistently delivering the unexpected to all crew members
Oversee and manage a crew recognition program that drives high performance
Manage all payroll onboarding with federal and state form compliance
Assess training needs on a unit-by-unit basis and work with local management to continually improve on training efforts
Report to Culture & Crew Director with from the field checks on the health and happiness of all crew members
Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management best practices
Responsible for coordinating monthly one-on-one meetings with direct supervisor
Attend daily company-wide huddles to report on top priorities and weekly team meetings to track quarterly goals and objectives
Manage benefit administration activities including open enrollment, leave administration and tracking

Experience working in the hospitality sector preferred

Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
Demonstrated ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks, including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures, benefits and other business issues.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local labor law and HR best practices
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive professional Human Resources Generalist experience.
US work authorization
Preference for PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification, or the desire to work towards one with the support of the company
